Cannot believe the quality of this game, to be honest. The level of attention to detail for the level design, the compassionate posture towards its characters, the outrageous creativity packed into the visual identity of each area... it's really incredible. I don't know, I really enjoyed this one. I think the dungeon crawl + dating sim combo is a natural match that BFD makes good use of for the duration. That loop between isometric dungeon combat and advancing a relationship is an addictive one, and the character designs are by and large pretty compelling here. I wish the game were much longer - the ending felt rushed and there are several character arcs that definitely got short shrift, but for the most part, this was a win for me.

The cult like fandom around this game is basically a meme now, but this campaign is fantastic and deserves a ton of praise. Super fun, fast pace, great story, not too long and does a great job at introducing creative gameplay elements.
Glad I finally played it all the way through, only took me 8 years to give it another shot...
Love the writing in every Rockstar game, would've liked more out of the final mission but looking forward to one day playing Read Dead Redemption 2 even more.
Cute, brief, and clever - Donut County has an idea, plays with it for about as long as you might imagine it's possible too, and then wraps up nice and quick. It's sassy and distinctive tone makes for a fun distraction and it's puzzles are low-key engaging in the way that scrolling a social media feed is. Worth a playthrough for sure.
Maybe low expectations won the day for me here, but I liked Cyberpunk 2077 despite its many, many hard crashes.
The story is an A- from me and the novelty of missions gets a strong A. Nothing ever felt like a checklist to me, even though I’ve clocked 96 hours inside Night City as of this review; it doesn’t develop Ubisoft Syndrome after 10-20 hours and even the tarot card collection si…show more

The story is an A- from me and the novelty of missions gets a strong A. Nothing ever felt like a checklist to me, even though I’ve clocked 96 hours inside Night City as of this review; it doesn’t develop Ubisoft Syndrome after 10-20 hours and even the tarot card collection side quest gave me enough of a reward to feel invested in it, to some extent. Though I wish CDPR offered more character customization options and didn’t fall into the trap of mandating that V’s ‘female’ form receive a ‘feminine’ voice and vice versa, I still found myself caring more about their saga than I have with the protagonists in probably any comparable open-world title since Grand Theft Auto V.
The crashes, unfortunately, are still unacceptable right now - though they’re *far* less intrusive on PS5 than PS4 or a mid-spec PC, not enough to make the game unplayable, and frame rate drops are non-existent. If CDPR continues to patch out bugs and add content as they claim they will, I’ll be the first to revisit the game - but until then, it’s a B+ from me.
